Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 2026

The Daily Groundwork ("Groundwork," "we," "us") is built on one simple rule: your prayers, journal entries, and reflections belong to you, not to us. This policy explains exactly what that means in practice.

The short version

Groundwork does not require an account. There is no sign-in, no email address collected, and no name required to use the app. Everything you write, record, or complete — journal entries, prayers, affirmations, gratitude lists, and Soul Health check-ins — is stored only on your device. We do not have a server that stores your content, and we do not sell or share your personal data with advertisers, because we don't work with any.

What's stored on your device

Uninstalling the app removes all of this data from your device. We have no copy of it, because we never received one.

Voice dictation and speech recognition

When you use the microphone to dictate a prayer, journal entry, or affirmation, Groundwork uses Apple's built-in Speech Recognition system to convert your speech to text. Depending on your device and settings, this processing may happen entirely on your device or may be sent to Apple's servers for transcription, governed by Apple's own privacy policy — Groundwork itself does not receive, transmit, or store your voice audio during this process. Recorded affirmations (a separate feature from dictation) are saved as audio files on your device as described above.

Subscriptions and payments

Groundwork Pro is an auto-renewing subscription processed entirely through the Apple App Store. We do not receive or store your payment details — Apple handles billing directly. To manage subscription status, we use RevenueCat, a third-party subscription management service. RevenueCat receives an anonymous device identifier and your purchase/subscription status; it does not receive your name, email, or app content. You can review RevenueCat's own privacy practices at revenuecat.com/privacy.

Notifications

Practice reminders are scheduled locally on your device using Apple's notification system. No notification content is sent through a remote server, and we have no visibility into whether or when a reminder was shown.

Exporting your journal

If you export your journal, Groundwork creates a file on your device and hands it to Apple's standard share sheet — you choose where it goes. We do not see, receive, or store a copy of anything you export.

Analytics and advertising

Groundwork does not use advertising SDKs, does not display ads, and does not use third-party analytics or tracking services. We do not know who you are, and we've built the app so that we don't need to.

Children's privacy

Groundwork is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children, consistent with the fact that we do not collect personal information from any user.

Your choices

Because everything lives on your device, you're always in control: delete any entry directly in the app, clear your assessment history from the Profile screen, or uninstall the app to remove all local data at once.

If this policy changes, we'll update this page and revise the date at the top.
